BIRTHDAY SUIT!

#KREATIVE KLOSET

So if you've been keeping up with my posts, you would have seen that Kreative Kloset is where I spent part of my evening for my birthday. Hosted by the young entrepreneurial spirited talent Shanice, this event was filled with people ready (yet shy) to mingle!

Lets start with what I wore. I was feeling very Spike Lee inspired and opted for a statement cap and pair of glasses. From there I worked my outfit around these red 'new jack swing' style, red trousers; because they were high waisted and baggy, I wanted to wear a fitted top or cropped tee. I ended up throwing on an oversized grey baseball jersey that I customised. To add dimension I chose to wear some strappy heels. Peep the pics below :)

JACKET- EBay
TOP- H&M (customised)
TROUSERS- Cow Vintage (Birmingham)
SHOES- ASOS

One of the highlights of this event was catching up with an old friend! Her name is Nyheke Lambert. She is seamstress/designer who currently specialises in menswear fashion. Having produced pieces for celebrities such as Labyrinth and collaborated with renowned companies such as Nike, Nyheke has future plans to do bigger and better things. It's always beautiful to see your friends doing amazing!

Check out her work! Unique and quality!!

Elly-what-the-funk was back at it, giving us live art, showcasing her pieces as well as D-Zina! Food was available free of charge, candy floss, slush puppies and cupcakes for 1 dollar (£). It was such a chilled vibe!
The line up for the evening shindig was on fleek lol. With poetry from the amazing Nego-True and sounds from Nia Ekanem, I truly left feeling like I had been somewhere!
I first heard Nego-True's spoken word at a monthly event held in London called Vocals & Verses. He has a way with words like no other and his delivery is so powerful.
Nia Ekanem is known for his acoustic playing, smooth talking and humility. He played a few of his pretty lyrics keeping us hanging onto his every word. Nia Ekanem's sound I would describe as a bed of flowers, soft fumes with a gentle feel.

The floor was open for an open mic night. A few talented individuals such as Janel Antoneshia kept us entertained along with MAC (rapper) and a few other amazing poets.
